Lanner and Kate got married this summer.  They had a beautiful little wedding up in the mountains of Utah and then came home for a little visit.  We had a big family get-together here at the ranch.  We had the privilege of meeting Kate's mother and father [Sylvia & Wayne].  Her sister and brother-in-law [Jill & Nick].  Their little girls, Livi and Elle [Elle is the little one] ... they are as cute as a minute!  Tercel did the barbequing and made Luhamishwe [Lebanese dish American style ... with real Black Angus beef].  Lanner and Nick tried their hand at steer roping ... I am not sure if they caught anything.  The cake [compliments of Sylvia & Wayne] sure was good.

It is always fun when people come for a visit.  We had a great visit with my cousin's family [Marty, Helen, Christine, & Kevin].  They brought their friends [Dave, Sue, & Rebecca ... their daughter Patricia was on an educational tour in Europe and missed out on all the fun].  We feed the cattle, rode and took care of the horses, practiced calf roping, and did some target shooting.  We also shucked corn and had waffles & ice cream for breakfast [this is a tradition at Fayad Cattle Company ... the waffle iron is always hot at our place].

Work on the ranch is never done.  Everything from making sure you have enough firewood to get you through the winter, to inoculating the cows and castrating steers, to mowing fields [my cousin Marty on the tractor].  Our trusty feline stalking birds near our feeder [not sure if he has caught any birds yet ... but he is a good mouser ... Chris named him Lucille after the famous redhead, Lucille Ball, that was before she found out "she" was a "he"].

Philip Adams [Our Godson] helping with the farm chores!  I think!  As friendly as these cows are, they generally do not let people touch them.  They are not afraid of Philip and Philip is not afraid of them.

Fayad Cattle Company would not be the same place without our friends from across the street ... Happenstance Ranch.  The first picture is of Eric, Mickey, and Whitney Wilson.  And then there is Kathy, always with a glass of wine in her hand ... just look at the expression on her face.  The third picture is very nostalgic.  It shows Mickey & Whitney helping Sidai find Flo's utter ... but just as important is old Gene Richardson in the background.  Gene past away recently ... sure do miss him.
