It is not as if Vince has nothing to do, so now he goes out and gets certified as Equine BioScan and Massage Therapist.  He is loving this new career and provides light and massage therapy for horses when not traveling.

Susan Mazlum owns and runs EquiTouch Systems, Inc. and is just a fantastic person.  I would recommend this program to anyone who is seriously interested in getting into equine massage therapy.  In the ten days I spent at the school in Loveland, CO I learned more about horses than I ever thought possible.  I plan on return in 2007 and taking the advance massage therapy program.  This is the best program in the country.  Please go to the Equitouch System, Inc. website:  www.equitouch.net

Terri Coulter is a certified massage therapist and was instrumental in getting us starting in identifying key points and muscles on the horse and the use of proper massage strokes.  She specializes in therapeutic canine, equine, and exhibitor sport massage.  Her email address is tdcoulter@worldnet.att.net

I never thought that my time at EquiTouch would include such additional training as saddle fit, horse conformation, horse shoeing, riding posture, demonstrations on chiropractic work, etc.  This was a well-rounded program and Suzie Fletcher-Baker made the program even more interesting.  She is a Certified Master Saddler a member of The Society of Master Saddlers (UK) Ltd.  You can contact Suzie at sfletcherbaker@aol.com

While Suzie conducted an excellent program in English saddle fit, Ellen Fitzgerald provided us with an equally informative session Western saddle fit.  I never realized the importance of good saddle fit in the overall health and well-being of a horse.  How can you expect your horse to perform at its peaks performance with an irritant hanging on its back.  You can contact Ellen at ellen@LNSBusiness.com

How can a horse perform well without good feet and properly fitted shoes.  We spent an afternoon learning about trimming and shoeing horses.

David McClain provided us with a demonstration on chiropractic work on a horse that had been badly abused and left on in a pasture.  This poor horse was in obvious pain and had difficulty in eating (because his jaw was out of place).  I would love to get to this level of proficiency.  Dave runs Dry Creek Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine Clinic and is board certified in Acupuncture.
